Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Has any manager discussed reports around in office days?

Do we know what's on these reports and if you are in compliance?

@lsbm The reports aren’t accurate at all. It’s just badge swipe counts with some poor slob pasting them into a spreadsheet and trying to massage it into a PowerPoint. Never thought that that I’d see a time tracking system worse than PPM but apparently there is.

Soon enough it will be work as usual with 5 days in office. I’m fine with normalcy and commuters allow us to support our cities.

Despite what management claims ( they are full of …..) thst now that the reports are fine & accurate , They are jacked up enough that the company is looking to spend money on a vendor just to be able to track our attendance better. So the tracking includes time off, etc..

Think about the absurdity of spending money when they’re constantly looking to cut cost just to track if we’re in the office.

How do the golf outings get tracked?

And well they should be tracking duration of time on office networks on days in the office. We cannot let the bad apples ruin it for the rest of us. We need to get back to normalcy and fast.

It's just we're putting new coversheets on all the TPS reports before they go out now. So if you could go ahead and try to remember to do that from now on, that'd be great.

Why insist on sticking to such an unpopular decision? Whether it's my colleagues or managers, I haven't come across a single person who is happy to return to the office three days a week.

Simple, Robin is trying to drive attrition. He wants us to leave on our own for free. Making people miserable is a goal.

Why insist on sticking to such an unpopular decision? Whether it's my colleagues or managers, I haven't come across a single person who is happy to return to the office three days a week. Why would you want to alienate a majority of employees? Completely incomprehensible.

It goes by badge swipes people. Obviously if you’re on vacation or out of office you not swiping your badge can be explained smh What I want to know is why the 3 days in a week or even two is not bank wide because I’m still seeing people not come in at all or even that frequent

I was visiting clients for a week and the report showed me as purple. WTF. I was just in their offices!

This was presented on a call I attended. Say in a month you take 2 weeks vacation and then use the work from anywhere for 2 weeks you have a full month of days to make up. Sounds great doesn't it?

hkx+1mq87XcV - thanks for the Intel

Is it honor calendar month basis or when does the new for a week periods start. Honestly, since the reporting’s so bad and doesn’t account for days off, holidays, etc.… If you’re taking vacation time and going to show up on the bad list anyhow, you might as well not come in at all the rest of the 4 weeks.

And as a few others said, how typical is it that they’re running these reports, and not sharing the results with us so we can ensure reporting is accurate, which was just confirmed it is not accurate because it doesn’t take into account days off….

@sqs
“Better make up those days next week”

No joke…

My TL was bragging about coming in on a Friday after being off Monday-Thursday as if it were some sort of laudable practice, and suggested we do similarly whenever possible.
TL guidance is to go in extra days in surrounding weeks so the dystopian bureaucratic solution they’ve implemented won’t mark us for termination/BE

How is vacation explained if you’re off for a week?

We get a report every 4 weeks with the names of people and how often they swipe in. It’s four different colors purple is not coming in at all, red is below the min days, light green is meeting expectations, and bright green is coming in more often than required. It doesn’t account for vacation, sick, WFA, or holidays. It counts all 7 days. If someone came in on Sunday for five minutes it counts at being in the office. It does not show how much time was spent in the office.

There are people that have been in three or more days per week still being told they aren’t in “enough”. It’s quite interesting that we aren’t allowed to see our numbers, so we have no clue if these number are inaccurate or just made up.

What does the report look like?
Is it a list of names with a number of swipes during the period, or does it list out the dates of each swipe for each employee?

I’ve already been scolded for “being in the red”, of course that’s because I was on vacation…

The reports are basically a list of badge swipes. How often and by who on what days.
