"why?" Is clear, most answers are spot-on.
I would argue that only "family and friends" answer is silly, and clearly but hurt.
What I think more relevant, is whether these H visa Indian/Chinese guys will get fired as well or if they have some sort of visa-armor (when they are are part of the vast majority which is neither family nor friend of bigwigs).
BTW, I got my permanent residency by working for Intel. Getting fired in this saturated labor market in the middle of the immigration process would have been catastrophic from bureaucracy perspective.
H1bs don't come up with weird excuses and emotional outbursts about non-issues.
You cannot combine 20 people who don't know calculus and get someone who
does know calculus. One thing those countries can provide is an enormous amount of propaganda which does not take a lot of skill or creativity due to the ridiculously large number of people that exist there. Basically they flood the more advanced countries which act responsibly.
Why pay $150,000 grand a year for one US born worker when you can get 20 H1b's for the same price?
We steal nothing from India and China even though they comprise
3 billion of the world's population. Also you don't see India importing
Chinese workers because they are better at physics or vice versa.
How else will America continue eroding itself?
Manufacturing was shipped off to Chyina decades ago, so we now need to bring them here to take jobs from Americans.
The H1Bs come from countries where they didn’t grow up with wealth and they didn’t receive ‘rewards’ for participation. They work hard, don’t think the companies or the country ‘owe’’ them anything and they like the idea of a great wage for an honest days work.
H1Bs can be worked like slaves as they are stuck waiting for green cards.

Are you kidding me? Give free tuition, all you will have is PHD's in English Lit serving at Starbucks rather then just BS or MS. What a horrendous waste of money.
