Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Phx MTG Underwriters

When will the underwriters be required to return to an office? How many days? Any details would be appreciated.

there were not that many UWs let go yesterday. the ones that were let go were only 50/50 in a hub. my boss’s boss was let go and it is my understanding they eliminated that position across all mortgage.

Is anyone left in underwriting? There were more layoffs today. Appears only a very small handful in the Wealth space remain.

Why not ask your manager?

Not snarky at all. But there are still some underwriters in Phoenix. I know they got the word that they will have to come back. I just hadn’t heard a date. Hoping they send them all to my office so I can go back to working from home like I did for a lot of years before all of this cr-p. I’m not in production.

I'm not being snarky, but you are aware that mortgage is essentially dead?

I wouldn't concern myself with RTO - I'd concern myself with when I'm being laid off.
