AI to replace humans for back-office roles

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ibm-halts-hiring-7-800-011845959.html

My personal experience with IBM HR is extremely poor: bureaucratic in their replies, opaque in their processes, and largely incompetent throughout.

My biggest surprise is that 26 THOUSAND (out of 260 thousand) are back-office and non-customer facing. That's 10% of pure overhead

Maybe that's a good thing!

reiterate: "Is this the same AI as offers the most inane and pointless "advice" to paying customers who open cases (problem reports about IBM products)? Agent-Watson (or whatever it is called) is a complete embarrassment. Any customer reading the drivel that comes from Agent-Watson would have no choice but to conclude that IBM either hasn't mastered AI or isn't using the good stuff when dealing with customer cases."

Eating their own dog food. Really - we have for years - when HR Bot could barely answer an extremely basic question (now not so much better than preferring links)

IBM and lot of companies have become H1bs bodyshops. They only hire and keep H1bs and find first chance to not hire and fire Americans. And most of the H1bs don't know how to work, they are after greencards, so the companies going down. US will become Indian, if no action is taken.

Looks like a perfect excuse for more layoffs... those RAed will get a letter from the bot saying hello, this is your AI replacement, you've been selected for a resource action by my superior AI bot. Of course has nothing to do with your age being 50+ just that us bots can do your work so you cannot sue on age discrimination. .. see? Perfect alibi. ..!
Great job AK, you've justified getting those $millions. Well done!
PS you cannot sue a bot right? ...

Using ChatGPT to replace the Executives probably can save more money for the company.

For the sake of the people down the road who will have to live with this, I hope they buy a real AI somewhere.
