Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Good riddance Nicky P.

Good riddance. You retired. No they got rid of you. A few million a year salary to be network ambassador. Lol. She was a horrible boss to work for. Yea she is a survivor but it didn’t matter to one person in network who was dealing with the same who she tried to fire. That is a true story. Nicky wasn’t a good person. Now her organization but look out. They are next on the chopping block. Who going to post stupid stuff on linked in now???

Nicki is a winner. She knows how to surround herself with real talented go getters. Most of her reports would give up their life for her, how is that for devotion?

Just curious, has anyone suggested a going away party for Nicky?
If not I would like to suggest one. No gifts, just food, drink, and great conversation.

Nick's career at Verizon was second to none. We often thought of her as a marine sergeant, always able to improvise, adapt, and overcome.
We love ya Nick!

Sad to see you go Nick! It's for the best that you quit on Verizon because Verizon could never, I mean never, quit on you.

Her ascent in wireless was the beginning of the end. She dragged a bunch of unqualified non engineer types of a certain demo into leadership roles of engineering orgs. The outcome was as anyone looking at it objectively would expect.

Leadership 3.0
We really need Di-k Ly--h and Dennis Strigl to be back controlling the helm at Verizon.
They knew what was required to be a great communications company with a first in class Network!
Successful management and appreciation of the talent, satisfying customers, adding shareholder value and ROI, and giving back to society are the keys to a Great Communications Company.
Verizon has not been the same since Dennis and Di-k left their leadership roles!
Thank You Di-k and Dennis for building a world class communications company and leaving it in better condition when you left.

Thank You from the Verizon customers, employees, shareholders, environment, and executives for your knowledge and leadership!
Looking forward to see your next chapter in promoting STEM for the youth of America.

Hopefully Hans and Verizon will keep the Network Ambassador program soaring to new heights to showcase the advanced network and social contributions from technology!

Nicki was an ok Leader. She had the innate ability to inspire orgs. She promoted too many unqualified women over the years, many that were bad leaders, and were protect by her. I mean some really bad leadership choices, just because they were women? Then again, look at some of the poor leadership choices made by others around us today. Come on now. I personally had to clean up a few of her messes, in that regard. One of the bigger mistakes was allowing that narcissist Fraud BF to run the cloud for a couple years, and taking advice from the King Clown TB. What a disaster that was. That made no sense to so many people, and has taken us years to recover from. She did a very good job getting in front of the network issues, and promoted the capital growth program for the better of the business. She carried that torch well. Personally I think she would have done a much better job as CEO than the current knucklehead in charge.

She’s still in the directory because she’s gone in July. Why would she want to work with all the stolen money aka salary from verizon, she should be able to live free without a job. Next up to go is her lab dog, C Ott, another protective species but not anymore. She another do nothing. She will leave by her choice, wink wink, by the end of the summer.

It's telling that her announcement came from LinkedIn, not corporate comms.

This must be hot off the presses because she's still in the directory. I assume they were just preventing her from working for a competitor until her knowledge was completely stale or maybe they didn't want her to get her golden parachute.

She doesn’t hold a true mba from warton it’s the weekend warrior certificate that a lot have and tout that they have A mba from there. It’s not a true mba, it a certificate. And I worked for her and she was a horrible boss. She plays the role of a people person but she isn’t. Don’t fall for it. As for India. Give it time, you will not be able to pronounce any executives names.

I never worked with or for Nicky. But I believe she started with the company in 1990 and holds a degree in Engineering from PSU and an MBA from Wharton.

Over the years, she held many tech/executive positions in the company up until Hans and India took over.

VZ's male executives from India (Shanks, Sam, etc.) will not allow women in top technical/leadership positions in the company. Arranged marriages are still very common in India. Women do not have equal rights.

So they forced Nicky into a BS job/title ("Network Ambassador") and made her a diversity token. She didn't ask for that job/title.

Unfortunately, this happened to many female executives and engineers at Verizon over the years (since 2018).

Shame on you, Verizon.
