Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Employee Survey

Is it me, or does those numbers seem padded? It also seems that OPERATIONS IS A LOT MORE unhappy than Corporate! Seems Corporate has their head in the clouds while Operations sees the reality of the blunder that is AT&T moves .

Just a couple things about these employee surveys:

  1. They keep asking the exact same questions on every survey until they get the response they want, then they stop asking that question.....
  2. These "anonymous" surveys are absolutely NOT anonymous, never have been, never will be... If you somehow think they actually are anonymous here are two tests that will prove to you that they are NOT ANONYMOUS:
  3. Test 1: after taking the survey, close the browser window, then log into the survey again.... It will tell you that you have already taken the survey.. f it was really anonymous it would not store information about you.
  4. Test 2: here's the REAL test of anonymity...... answer some of those questions with threatening answers, make it seem like your nuts and about to flip out.. definitely leave no question that you are saying you will go postal.... I'm not saying to actually go postal, but put those comments in the survey...... It won't take very long until you will have clear and irrefutable proof that your survey was not anonymous.

In their published results, they group any kind of agree together. Whether it's strongly or slightly. So that's the first padding they do. Many people don't want to give total negative so they take that to mean everyone is totally completely happy. Look at the asterisk at the bottom of all the charts.

“All this think ever does is make the life of L2’s and 3’s miserable, having to “fix” their groups low scores. When the reality is most are disgruntled with corporate leadership, where nothing ever changes”

This is mostly true. I don’t know why I keep responding on these survey’s. Got ours today and same thing as usual. Detractors isolated and advised we (our AD’s team) will be engaged to investigate and remediate those reported issues. None of those detractors can be fixed at our level. Culture and leadership issues far above us. Always the same thing. Most of it needs to be floated to the executive level so real action can take place, but they always shoot it back downstream to us. This place never changes man.

I always gave them high marks on these surveys, especially the local management. I found the squeaky wheel at AT&T is selected for layoffs. That's not necessarily wrong on AT&T's part, because if a group is representing that it is in disarray, why keep them if there are other groups representing themselves not in disarray.

I was aboard the gravy train and the paycheck kept coming. That's the only thing I pay attention to.

Corporate has softer, 2-ply toilet paper. The little things make a difference.

2 Ply!! Those lucky "basterds". We have John Wayne Brand toilet paper. Rough Tough and don't take no chit off of anybody. That is only when it's stocked. Otherwise the brown roll hand towel paper has to do.
Or, I could do as as our fine Indian friends do. Drop a deus on the floor and scamper away from the bathroom hoping a Dalit will clean up the mess.

Operations deal with customers and internal struggles. This is why Operations doesn’t have the higher score.
If your corporate chances are you have a good gig. Less pressure, less workload and much more time to attend to meaningful training and Corporate events.

Corporate is getting their large salaries and bonuses and worrying about stupid things like skin color. They have no idea what operations does.
