Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Confirmed 2Q layoffs ACE

Layoffs in ACE wireline and mobility. Groups targeted in 1Q layoff will be unaffected in this round of layoffs. Off the books end of June. 1Q layoff averaged 8-11%, this layoff will be the same.

I wouldn't necessarily agree that craft has been trimmed to the max. My unit has far more techs than we have work, therefore, keeping busy only 15-20 hours per week per tech. We could easily afford to give up 2-3 techs and still get by with our work load.

Craft have been trimmed to the max. Management is top heavy and that’s where they will be laying off people. Sorry should have never went over to the dark side, choices have consequences.

ACE was the first org to publicly (in a Town Hall late Sept ‘22) reference the cuts that were made 1Q2023.

"The purtie girls on my team are a protected species when it comes to layoffs"

Yep the bosses love their eye candy that's for sure. I've witnessed it many times in my career.

Hearing that layoffs will be quarterly going forward. If the target is 85K employees, then they still have a long ways to go before they realize that the company can't successfully operate with 50% reduction in workforce.

If I'm tapped I will refuse to cross train anyone or share details of all the work I've been doing. I would encourage everyone to do this. What are they going to do fire you!!

My regret will be that hundreds of people will be left in the dark that have relied on my support for decades.

Our group was hit at 30% a couple months ago. If they hit us again, we will basically be done. So, que sara, sara.

This is the round where the remaining talent leaves the company.

They call it Brain Drain.

Nothing new, this was talked about in the town hall meetings of more layoffs mid year and possibly year end too after evaluation. It’s a dynamic situation.

Out of region is relatively safe and that’s right from a Director level

Since nearly all the company is tied to wireline or wireless it means any group could be targeted

There’s some truth to this. But I’m not sure it’s absolute. I was informed that the groups that were affected will be affected again in this layoff.

Stoopid post by OP. Could you be any more vague you goof. Why even bother posting this useless cr-p at all other than to stir people up for no reason.
