Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Adidas is on the attack

I guess they realized this is the best time to take Nike on. Even they can see how bad things are.

This is a distraction tactic post to divert from the layoffs and big reorg happening with GT and ND.

Adidas isn’t attacking anyone. Back in March they had their worst earnings report in a long time. Bigger problems in China than Nike, bigger margin compression than Nike, and WAY worse overall earnings than Nike. And who can forget their billion-dollar “Ye” troubles. They staked entirely too much of their business on that loose cannon.

Honestly, I haven’t seen adi in such bad shape since back around 2006 when they absorbed Reebok and soon learned that was probably a bad idea.

Nike has issues but adi isn’t one of them.

I think this post is referring to the recent articles about Adidas doubling down on US markets. https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/adidas-wants-double-down-us-market-regional-head-tells-wsj-2023-04-30/
