Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Charlie’s accomplishments at WF

17 regulatory violations and over $4 billion in penalties/fines since 2021. He became CEO in October 2019. The numbers do not include 2020 or prior.

Stock price was at about $50 in October 2019, today May 2023 barely $40.

How would you rate his performance as CEO?

With regards to the WF stock prices, if you look at other big banks (BofA, Chase, etc.) for the same timeframe (since Jan 2020), their stock price ups and downs pretty much match each other...not the individual price per share, but the overall "peaks and valley".

All we can hope for is that he gets some prison time for all the money he has stolen. Trade in that designer suit for a striped suit

I just looked that up. I didn’t remember seeing that, so thank you. The price was $28.69 in March 2020.

Here’s what I find interesting about that: For corporate stock buybacks with Wells Fargo’s money, he pays no regard as to purchase price. He has paid (wasted) anywhere from $40 to $60 per share, often getting more aggressive at higher prices trying to make it look like the stock is on a (fake) run. But for himself, with his money, he pays 28.69.

So he’s smart when it comes to his own money. But he simply has no respect/ethics/accountability when it comes to the bank’s resources.

He is a snake.

If I recall, he bought $5 million in stock at somewhere around $26. Jokes on us. Charlie wins again!
