"Every minute in the day you are dealing with Orca is one less minute you have to deal with customers"

If you really are "dealing" with ORCA, then you are not "dealing" with customers much at all if any outside of access/entry contact. It's an Access-Construction & Engineering centric application and you folks really have little "Customer" exposure compared to everybody else in field ops organizations. In fact, I don't believe I've ever worked with anyone in C&E that prioritized customer needs or satisfaction in the decision making process. That was always somebody's else's problem to deal with (Like I&M.....)

Get ready for cluster freak MONDAY! Orca is live. I will spend more time inputting my time on each and every print, step, task. Then I will be able to work. No more input at the end of the day for me. Boss has already told us. Do not go to next step without time coding the last step. This is going to be so much fun.

Every minute in the day you are dealing with Orca is one less minute you have to deal with customers. I learned some time ago the MSOC numbers are the most important thing. Customers nope, amount of useful work done in a day, nope. If someone needed help and it didn't fit in MSOC, Phuck off. It was a learning curve to be sure, because by nature I wanted to be useful and helpful, but AT&T cured that "problem".

Just chalk ORCA up to another in the long list of failures within at&t. I'm not sure what causes these failures but time and again it happens, maybe just bad luck? It probably goes much deeper, failure to follow through? Most failures are associated with declaring victory prematurely. Implementing a new process or project, completing 80%, then walking away. Seen it happen time and time again. Watch what happens with RTO, they will start out strong, even dismissing employees, then walk away from it. I believe they call it failure to finish!

Orca is just the latest time management tool dejour. AT&T "needs" this to work just like AT&T needed MSOC to work. AT&T tried the white belt, green belt and black belt nonsense. Oh yes, we remember when those wanna be's would have Six Sigma Black belt in their email signature. Go ahead put that in your email signature now. See how much respect that engenders. ZERO.
The consultants that come and sell these management "Tools" make a lot of money, and they get it from "Fools" that overpay for things like DirecTV, Warner Media.
