Cisco Self-ID

How much did this bring your own pronoun to work cost?

Does this make our packets move faster?

“How does using someone's preferred "pronoun" violate standard English? If someone's name is "Pat", until or unless you know whether or not it's short for Patrick or Patricia, simply using their preferred pronoun would be using standard English. If someone has, or is undergoing transition, then why can't you use their new gender pronoun?”

I go by Big Daddy. If I insist on being call that, will you oblige?

There are literally thousands of enhancement requests across the span of our portfolio and yet we’re wasting time, resources, and money on this stuff which has zero to do with providing our customers with enterprise solutions.

As for pronouns, what was the point of learning standard English if everyone just makes up their own rules? Could Cisco function as a company if we applied this same principle?

Sadly this was not the most useless mail of the week, which says a lot.

I fully support the use of pronouns in the directory, gives me a clear indication of those to avoid at all cost. The modern day scarlet letter!

How much does the incompetence of the software engineering staff who create damage that costs billions every year to never completely fix cost? I worked with whole groups who couldn’t answer this question even when they were allowed to work together on it.

Bonus points if you can correctly guess what your failures cost your customers. Hint: we’re paying you to fail and we’re paying another staff to do your testing for you, sometimes taking years to qualify an image, and we’re losing revenue from services we can’t deliver during that time.

I can't imagine it costs much. Of all the things to worry about, I don't really think this is up there.
