Why don’t you just unplug your refrigerator, TV and stereo etc to save costs and just drive into work. What a goofy post. This dude is saving over a thousand bucks a year WFH and he wants more.

Oh my god this takes whining to a new level. Saving money by working from home is great but this employee wants their Wi-Fi and utilities paid for.

I’m sorry but Robin needs to get workers back into the office full time ASAP. people are in La La land.

I also hate it that BNY does not give employees an allowance, to cover for utilities and WiFi when we WFH.

It's super productive to drive an hour each way to only join a Teams meeting with the people you are allegedly supposed to collaborate with all while being asked to "hush" by the small population of people within 20 yards.

Don't get me started with the bathroom stalls. It's been suggested we bring in our own wipes to sanitize the bowls.

I hate RTO too.
I've never met the team I work with or my manager. I can go into the office and not talk to another person but I have to listen to a lot of noise.
If they say I need to see the people face to face to work effectively then their model of global teams doesn't work

How jaded do you have to be to downvote a hard worker?

I really enjoy it when I have to use the cr-pper in the afternoon & it looks worse than a county fair portajohn - not to mention the people always playing tic tock videos or something loudly w/out headphones in the next stall. & then don’t wash their hands.

It’s utterly normal. I did the same thing for 42 years. It allowed me to raise a family and send them through college debt free. Most all of my friends did the same.

There aren’t “thousands of applicants for each remote position”. The unemployment rate isn’t very high and anyone who wants to find a job can easily find one. You're only hurting yourself by lying to yourself. Recommend self reflection to see why you’re frightened of leaving.

I know of three people who found fully remote positions in retail banking in the past half year.. They each researched, networked when possible, tailored their résumés to the jobs and researched the banks’ businesses and open positions. All found the positions on Indeed.

The difference is that they didn’t sit back and whine. They got organized and worked their tails off.

Why not look for a fully remote job? They’re very easy to find post COVID.

Easy to find the listing? Of course. But there are thousands of applicants for each position.

Actually replacing most (definitely not all though) with H1B has a lot of merit. Particularly in operations and technology.

I have seen people came in early before rush hours and checked in for Return to Office. Then they drove home for the day then work from home rest of the day. Anything goes.......

You just need to collaborate harder! Think about ways you can help your fellow colleagues. Have you thought about spending free time cleaning up the office? The bathrooms? More water cooler talk would do you better!

Pretty sure they want collaboration. They’re happy with their own corroboration.

Outrageous! You don’t enjoy wasting hours of your day commuting (read: polluting) and spending hundreds of dollars per month for no reason other than to save some rich A-hole’s CRE portfolio? The incredulity of the idea! Robin and Catherine told me all employees love grovelling in person.

I’m so glad we’re being forced back into the office to lower our productivity. Now that’s a future HBR case study for you…

I drive 1.5 hours each way, only to 'collaborate' on the phone with people, the same as I do from home. It makes no sense, but it makes our insect overlords happy.

I'm currently looking for a better situation.

Why?! You don’t enjoy the corroboration with your co-workers and the mindless conversations and bathroom odors?! How dare you!!
