Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

It's just a waste of time

If they don't care about our opinions or intend to improve the company according to the feedback they get through the survey, then what is its purpose?

Supposedly all “the best” companies use the Gallup Survey to show how proactive they are seeking to get better. Total BS of course, Vz does it to let Leadership think they are a great company. Just retired but Vz is like a car accident - I keep driving around the block to lock at it again!

You all are missing the point of the Pulse Survey.

This is a major way for the Kompany to get a peek into the head of everyone who is dumm enough to take it; if there's any issue that could get VZ into legal turmoil, they hope to discover it this way. If there were an employee who may "go postal", same. If they were to want to terminate any of us, they would then have a "database" on each employee that they could refer to, to potentially use as "evidence" of malfeasance or whatnot, to support denial of unemployment bennies, etc. Yes, these survey responses are saved to a file, to be used as a tool to deal with employees in any potential future disputes, for the Kompany benefit. Proceed at your own peril.

The wise person does not do the Pulse Survey. Unfortunately, most do not have enough spine to buck the recurring, constant pressure from the Kompany OR the union to fall into line to take the Survey. Yes, the union pushes it too, they are not to be trusted either. Our rep stood right next to the 1st & 2nd liners, telling us all to do it, that if "someone were to be punished/blackballed for not playing along, that they would not help us. UNBELIEVEABLE.

Cannot get out of here fast enough.

I can't speak for other areas of the company but there is so much wrong with the wireless retail side that I'm not even going to waste my breath naming them all. I'm also not going to give out free advice. If you can't see it or figure it out, you're part of the problem.

Cmon you haven’t noticed around pulse time vetting alot more nonsense thank yous compared to other times? Maybe they need surveys every week so the directors can say their thank yous and review the survey to see if it improved their thank you scores.

The problem is the solutions contradict their narrative. Stop pushing the political garbage. Stop the offshoring. Stop the RIFs. STOP ASKING IF I HAVE A BEST FRIEND AT WORK.

... and, o yeah, have competitive pricing.

They are just checking a box --- our Director now has weekly meetings with the managers and, has quarterly meetings with the rest of us - the rest of the time he is disappears. Just checking a box to keep getting thise paychecks. Smoke and mirrors
