On Verizon Wireless page here at thelayoff.com, I see a poster a few weeks ago referencing a May 25 RIF but little detail and no others confirmed. So I’d thought I’d throw this out there to see if anyone had heard anything that was from a reliablish source regarding anything.

Yes..hearing tomorrow (Wed 5/24/2023) people will begin to be notified. You'll know when your system access no longer works. Sorry to hear this...
Nobody should be surprised, there's RIF's every quarter, it's what VZ does. Hoping all who are seeking them get fantastic buyouts.
The notion of asking for volunteers means they ask the old-timers if they are ready to retire.....
And yes, they can/will spread it across days or even weeks to manage the notification process between mgt, employee, and HR. You could have some groups on Wed, others on Thur.

Confirmed by management in our team, notification 05/23 or 05/24 and off the book by end of June. The other difference with this round of RIF’s, volunteers weren’t being accepted. So only time will tell what is coming. But one thing for sure, don’t want to be around after the fact.
Why would notifications go out on May 24th(Wednesday) when they have always gone out on Thursday in the past? Have they they ever gone out on a Wednesday?

Agree on VGS , lots of redundancy. They have several finance groups that need consolidation, and the field ops teams in retail channel really do no heavy lifting, all that work is done by the outsource company after we put in work requests.
IMO... VGS (since it was called out) will see some reductions in the name of 'efficiency'. It already had reductions last year, but VGS has a ways to go. Same goes for all other areas - VCG, VBG, etc...
RIF notifications go out to people on 5/24 to be off the payroll end of June. there will by many groups including the new global services group celebrating the half year together by making cuts to their ranks.
