Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I hate this place

It’s so toxic in every way and it’s getting worse. Is it sad I reminisce about working in branch banking in the Tolstedt era? God that was horrible, but this is so much worse.

I can’t get out of here fast enough! Please lord let those connections at other banks come through. I’m losing the skills and passion I once had after the beat down around here. I need to get out while I could refuel the dying ember.

I’m just coping and getting by these days. I honestly don’t care about even looking good anymore. Nothing really matters around here unless you came from Chase.

I used to be a 5 performer and felt like I could make a difference. Now, I know I can’t make a difference and I have no future swimming in this toxic waste pool of an organization. I’m ashamed to be associated with this company.

After more than two decades, I’m done. Not sure anyone has much of a future here really. Would never tell a young person to start their career here. You’d be better off starting your own business and building it. That’s more secure and rewarding.

Thanks for allowing the rant. I don’t have any real venues to do that at work. So sorry this isn’t about a layoff really except me hoping I can go next and get it over with.

Now let me take advantage of those free mental health sessions…

I left 5 years ago and I was having migraines and hair loss. WF used to brag about not having any operations done in foreign countries. Now, US "team members" are training their foreign replacements. I don't know anyone who enjoys it anymore. Most of the people I worked with have been laid off. WF knows their pay and benefits are competitive and that many people cannot afford to leave. I enjoyed what I did for many years and then the lawsuit came down and my job changed to something completely different than what I was hired to do. I think my job would have been eliminated if I had not left.

You are not alone in how you feel and what you describe.

Wells Fargo has sunk to new lows. We have the worst reputation in the business world for scandals corruptions cheating and stealing. Charlie ranks right up there for criminal behavior

Yeah, actual work and the people capable of doing it don't matter anymore. All that matters to the tools in Hudson Yard is DIE, elevating corporate hacks in NYC, cutting headcount regardless of the ramifications, location strategy / RTO, and other useless $hi+.

The only thing WF is doing right now is promoting Wall St. cronies up through the ranks so that they can chop as much of the bank, sorry firm, as possible.

This place no longer rewards people for hard work. They reward folks for being on DE&I or every day leader (such a joke) and/or for being schleps who don't do any real work but play the game and spew out all the trigger words that make the managers and execs feel all warm and fuzzy. The performers and the GetSh*tDone folks are being burned out at insane rates. So many people are just waiting for the axe to fall so they can collect the severance and GTFO. I think if WF stopped giving severance there would be a massive, massive exodus. That is the only thread holding this place together right now.
