Lightning customers wanted

Cars.com has 1733 available right now and this XLT is over $100k.

Seems a tad over the $64k stated price.

Just need to find 150,000 more customers.

Ford Motor Co. is on track to reach its 150,000-unit production goal on the electric F-150 Lightning this year and giving the largest production increase to the XLT trim customers have been waiting for, the Dearborn automaker said Thursday.

Customers wanting the $64,474 Lightning XLT can order one today from a local Ford dealer online or in-store and expect delivery as early as September, the company said. Ford is continuing to accept retail customer orders for the Lariat and Platinum higher-trim models. The entry-level Pro model remains sold out for model year 2023.

@5owy+1n247UDv I am glad you enjoy your Ford Lightning. TBH, I'd never risk my home and family by driving a Ford made in the last few years. Based alone on the price, without looking at the capacity, utility and performance specs (which suck compared to ICE), it is already out of my comfort zone.

Since I am in the top 10% income earners bracket in this country, that tells me the Ford Lightning is not priced for over 90% of the Americans. Since most high earners prefer any luxury brand over a Ford, I'd say there are not many id--ts willing to throw money away by buying a Lightning. Adding that Ford loses money with every BEV sale, it doesn't seem a good business move.

Now that you have the experience of owning a Ford Lightning, I really hope that you are never in a car accident, nor have a fire. Remember to avoid parking garages and structures, since your vehicle is too heavy.

I'd really like to know your thoughts about the Lightning 10 years from now. I am guessing that ownership will become more expensive, the same way "charging" is more expensive that filling a gas tank, more fees will be added to utilities and BEV owners for road repairs.

Wait! I thought buyers were lined up around the block for these things? 🤣

Funny that someone will plop down a few hundred dollars to reserve something, but then balk at the $90k+ price tag!🤣

But keep telling us how many reservations they are. We're d-mb.

Young and affluent professionals will buy the Lightning.

Ford will balance production with the number of trucks on dealer lots to keep the demand high.

These used vehicles may be lease returns and possibly overpriced. But that is on the dealership.
