Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Remember when 225 Liberty was the headquarters?

How long did that last ? 3 years? Don’t get me wrong, it was a nice building, but 240 Greenwich had plenty of space at the time. What were they thinking? Especially since the Brooklyn employees didn’t go to 240 until after 2019 (?).

It’s not the BNYM museum. It’s the BONY Data center.

I think they set up a BNY Mellon Museum at that location too.

We wanted to keep some prominence in downtown Manhattan since we were giving Jo the most prestigious address in the borough.

Liberty was a consolation prize for Bob Kelly (legacy Mellon, for the record). Kelly wanted to build an elaborate white elephant HQ in NYC, but was repeatedly shot down by the board. Remember all is MySpurce posts from the private jet, as he circumnavigated the globe on his BS business trips?

Ahhh yes. The start of the open office seating in the name of collaboration.
Bad move.

Yes I remember. It just goes to show you that even before CS and RV did their damage, previous regimes were equally clueless. This is totally a BNYM thing.
