Time Study

We recently lost a coworker and another one is on paternity level. While the case load has increased for everyone, upper management has asked for a time study to prove how many employees it takes to do the job. My manager has asked that I move slow since they are timing me.

Every time study i have ever had with B of A ends up with my team being required to produce more with less time to do it. The analysts who read the time study findings have no idea what my group does, so how can they realistic quantify what our optimum production should actually be. I don't blame the analysts because our senior leadership gives them incorrect metrics. Over paid Id--ts leading the blind. Waste of time!!

We went through that. Lots of interviews, filling out spreadsheets, meetings behind closed doors, reports to management, blah, blah, blah....

Did not make one iota of difference.

Nothing changed. We are still understaffed with most of us taking one the work of people who left... going on 5 years now....

Don't give it any thought. If your manager asked you to "go slow", I'd try to get that in an email somehow or have them repeat it in front of others. CYA.

Time studies never resolve anything. The team that watches you for the time study has no clue what you are doing and don’t pay attention to what you are doing either.
