Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Can’t wait.

Waiting to find out when my layoff date is and I had a few thoughts. I am not upset about losing this job. Who can keep their sanity with only 60 seconds between nonstop calls having to kiss a-s all day long. I never felt a desire to move up the corporate ladder because the only people I witnessed get promoted had to kiss MAJOR a-s. Literally. Multiple people getting rewarded for sleeping around in the company. The only time I only witnessed someone get fired was if they stole. HR was very nonexistent in stores unless there was theft involved. I do feel for those of you who haven’t been with the company for a while since my severance package to come is a blessing, but I can never get back the years wasted on sales and customer service. This is not a DREAM job. This job is a waste of time. I felt brainwashed. I stayed for the benefits, time off and tuition assistance that’s how they roped me in. The benefits with Verizon have been amazing and I have no complaints about that, but there is more to life then taking nonstop calls that are almost ALWAYS draining and negative.

@5qla+1n5g68D6 Lack of understanding and compassion ..this is exactly why people on this site dislike you so much. You all act with a sense of entitlement and like your sh*t dont stink because of your so called 'protected status' - you get what you give

" you knew what you signed up for" - really!?!? When I applied for this role almost two decades ago, I did with the understanding that VZ was a solid company and that I would have job security instead of being in constant fear of not having a job next month - TOXIC work environment!

The Union Presidents' make a whole lot of money, $1M+, from your bi-weekly dues which allow you all to go laughing all the way to the bank.

I hope you dont live paycheck-to-paycheck. Knowing you have a guaranteed pension and retiree health benefits. At least, I dont have any credit card balances on any of my 5 credit cards with above average lines of credit.

The union workers are WOKE and the losers. Will find a way to survive. Survived thus far.
The union does not any other means to survive. Needing the NO LAYOFF CLAUSE !!! I will match my bank and investment accounts to yours anytime and anyplace. But cannot match the continued union pension.

Just note that the VZ share price, as of COB yesterday, was $35.61, down from the $52.18 within the last 52-weeks. Sinking!!!! Will VZ survive, as-is, probably not.

Because of the labor union Verizon cannot offer a lower price to wireless customers to compete with the other carriers.

The respective president's of your labor unions should really counsel the unionized labor force. There is no free lunch. There is only laissez-faire economics.

Unfortunately, too late to sell the wireline assets to get rid of you and all your unionized peers. There is no acquirer for the remaining wireline assets. Because nobody want to inherit the unionized employees. The only wireline asset remaining with value is the copper in the last mile. Certainly not the union workforce.

The union is and will continue to be the issue = laughing all the way to the bank. Overpaid and underworked and uneducated. The sale of all the wireline assets would get rid of the union forever.

Foremost, there is no buyer for the wireline assets because the acquirer does not want the union baggage. Go and talk to your union, craft/labor, President, and get some counseling.

Better yet, I am going to contact both the big union Presidents and send then this weblink.

Those who can do those who can't manage that's where you went wrong. 23 going on 24 years strong zero layoffs on the union side we work with contracts and have something called a NO LAYOFF CLAUSE !!! So they will continue to RIF management left and right while we die off retire and leave there's less than 30 thousand union members at this point. Who do you think physically install maintain this great network not management that's 4 sure so while it's a sad state of affairs. Management will continue to see RIFS
