Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Surplus Notice 06/15

District 6, bargained employees looks like several organizations are trimming down. Per Labor source
C&E, network clerks and asssitants, total surplus of all clerk titles, possible follow the work to Dallas for some support clerks, all 5 states MOKAT
Revenue management title, total surplus of title in MOKAT
Service Reps & Sales Assistant, 10% cut by area, looking at San Antonio and an Oklahoma office to close
Network Center Techs looking at total surplus of title in some locations
Business Org Service Reps, follow the work to Dallas are, Oklahoma and Houston offices will be hit
Repair Reps, title are 100% surplused
There were several more but I can't remember them all. This surplus will be brutal for District 6 non-management.

“Craft has been trimmed to the max over the years that's why there hasn't been a big layoff in several years. If you work in the field or CO I won't worry too much, if you work in a network operation center in a large group then you might need to worry. The company has been know to automate and layoff large portions of craft in the centers and replace them with expendable management to work the tickets that automation can't handle"

LOL let’s lay off this “non expendable guy” and replace them with this “expendable management employee” we didn’t lay off.

Fu*kin delusional how you view things

I/R did this to themselves. Walking out mid job at quittin time, sitting on jobs for hours to prevent taking another. Proved how much fat was on the bone and now it’s being chopped. Them old school union boys needed to go so the newer I/R that haul a-s can actually get some work done.

In all honesty I/R is still heavy in a lot of places with techs running out of work by 2pm page. There is still some fat that can be cut on I/R side unfortunately.

Not surprised at all he said something similar to this earlier this year when he was referring to the management coming back into the office to work and that he was going to cut back on some jobs on top of the fact that some people at least 15% would not be returning to the workforce due to the new Force back in office atleast 2 days a week for some 3 for others that has been set in place

They’ll have to get rid of the contractors first. I don’t believe this post anyways.

If this is true, the company has to give the union 24 hours notice. Word would have spread today and nothing has been said. So unless it's actually Friday 6/16, nothings happening.

Thank you for the info. I’m confused about the Repair Rep title part. No such title. Did you mean maintenance administrators? Ty

Any threat to district 7, more out of region than in region? Would love to know of a layoff threat in this area of the CWA map!

"Anything on outside techs..I/R, Specials, CO, Splicers?"

No. You're already running on a skeleton crew.
Coverage is needed for vacations, sick days, and network outages.

Sounds very drastic and very specific. May I ask you in the fog of knowledge that is the ongoing RTO, how is it that you have such specific knowledge regarding Craft? Is it possible you are full of $hit?
If i was surplussed tomorrow, I would have to undergo a Grinactomy to remove the smile from my face.
