Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Since when do you work bare minimum

I know several people who always used to their best and try to add as much value here as possible, but nowadays only do the bare minimum of what's being asked of them. There are many more people like that here, I'm sure, so I'm curious if you remember at what point you decided to make such a change and not make great efforts anymore?

Wait let me count the ways - #1 You will be fired unless you inject yourself with a (brand new) vaccine or lose your job. #2 They shove LGBTQA+/? down my throat as if everyone has those same values. #3 Forcing people to hire diverse candidates to hit quotas regardless of capabilities. #4 Useless days filled with powerpoints and spreadsheets. We used to make a difference here, now it's busy work.

Stopped working several years ago more than 2 hours per day once it became clear CEO was unqualified and only cared about Cisco stock buybacks and then awarding ridiculous amount of shares right back to himself and cronies while driving the company into the ground

I sometimes go to office for big team meetings or the free foods at those meetings then I bring extra home with me for family to share. I do like the Cisco!!!

When your VP makes $600,000 a year and doesn't do any work. While hiring his friends and family for lucrative jobs. That's when you start to lose motivation.

Why would anyone work hard? When you are salaried your paycheck is the same whether you coast all day or work yourself into an early grave.

I suspect people who work hard fall into one of two camps with lots of crossover in the Venn diagram. The first camp is people trying to hustle for more money because they are on that hedonic treadmill living a lifestyle well above their means. The second camp is people whose egos are in the stratosphere and think having an aneurysm before the age of 45 is a mark of pride. These are the people in here always virtue signaling about muh harrd wurk...

Me? I consider every penny I've ever gotten from any company to be stolen money. Not only do these clowns pay me to be a sloth, my life is virtually stress free. No wrinkles here, this face is so pretty I shoulda been born a girl LOL

Cisco also seems to be happy telling us and the street how well we are doing financially (in addition to my bu in general) but there is a mysterious lack of information on raises. Total joke.

I wouldn’t say I stopped trying, but I’m certainly not working extra hours for the current below market pay. Especially with how disconnected my current leadership has been lately.
