Wireline/wireless Cuts

Again today heard rumor once again that the wireline inside &outside union folks will be offered a enhanced package to leave as is allowed in their contract to get headcount down.Along with on the wireless side they will be cutting headcount in service reps and cust service .All this after the next management riff. This is in anticipation of a new Cfo soon to be CEO .With the intent of a future sale of wireline assets to a buyer which will be freeing up capital for the continued wireless expansion

Pennsylvania VNOC days are numbered. The goal is to get all work handled by management/vendors and to rid itself of union workers prior to the TDM switches sunset.

5g is one of the biggest farces ever perpetrated upon mankind. For ten years 5g has been about to launch while constantly using one of the most useless statements ever; "game changer". It has definitely been a game changer by being the first carrier to launch "fake" 5g and pouring endless amounts of cash focusing on 5g while at the same time the overall network degrades. They continued to push down everyone's throats that VZ was a technology company. Everyone understands that VZ provides voice and data. VZ purchases the network equipment, outsources the tower build, if needed, sells phones that another company designed and manufactured. How does this add up to being a technology company. Then IOT was the next big gold mine which has always been utterly ridiculous. One more because I could continue all day. The partnership deals for rural markets. Had VZ never heard of Sprint PCS which was the same basic concept and cost Sprint approximately $6B to buy them out. But all Hansey is concerned about is increasing the percentage of diversity which was over 60% several years ago while also focusing on all of the social injustices in the U.S.

Not a bad gig for $20+M per year and never worry about the bottom lines.

The statement about only continuing with profitable deals is bs, but only a few know. Almost all large corporate customers lose money. The deals are negative, sales escalates and the unprofitable deal is approved because no one wants to be the person that lost 20,000 corporate wireless phone connections. Upper management does not want the truth, they just want a presentation showing how great it is to keep the 20,000 unprofitable phone connections. All smoke and mirrors and without the constant revenue accretion the house of cards comes crashing down. When you are unable to drive revenue growth, then you outsource and RIF employees, but that also does not last forever.

All rumors, no offers coming out for the union, those days are gone and with lump sums down 200k only a fool would take it.

VZ is not selling wireline . Wireline is more than just FIOS .

"This is in anticipation of a new Cfo soon to be CEO .With the intent of a future sale of wireline assets to a buyer which will be freeing up capital for the continued wireless expansion"

If this is true then it means more of the same nonsense of non-serious, non-scientific people trying to run a telecommunications company without a clue. Wireless is currently at the steady-state but cannot admit that to themselves. 5G is too expensive, lacks real efficacy, and offers no real value proposition to customers. The wireless people have now become the real 'Bell Heads'.

This company has had the worst luck since the beginning of this century. D-mbest and the most highly paid decision-makers.

Wireline assets 10+ years ago were worthy of fetching US $30B adjoined with the union.

Wireline: the riddance of the unions will be the most important cost savings.

Wireline assets fetching US$3B at the most. Displacing the unions with this sale. No acquirer will want the hefty union baggage.
