Will there be a large layoff on this date?

Curious as to see how many L2 & L3 get the call. I know a L3 in my silo will be gone, but will probably get another position within the company.

Yes. My group has been given this date for a few weeks now. ACE. They haven’t told us what percent

You sure you are not mixing the RTO with the surplus event, they are two different activities. Management is being told specifically not to discuss this Surplus.

ACE. Level 1.

For some reason, I am expecting to be let off this go round despite getting high ratings for last year, one on the spot connection award bonus this year, and being junior enough in the company to not have a pension.

My lack of years of service means a lesser severance if they let me go, and that is the only additional gain for the company they would have by surplussing me other than eliminating my paltry hourly rate.

Still... I feel like the sky is falling.

My paranoia extends even further than the bounds of AT&T. Like this is some long con directed plot from the banking/finance giants to all their corporate puppets to eliminate the middle class. It feels like it began before the pandemic to lower our life expectancies and get us on universal basic income.

I absolutely hate that I think this way, but context is everything and the entire cloud of corporate/government collusion casts a shadow that makes it very difficult to have any optimistic thought to the contrary.

Sure, why not. Chaos is firmly in charge now.

That’s the date people will be notified if they are affected they have 2 weeks in management. No more calls letting folks know they are in an affected work group for management. It’s two weeks and your gone.

Yes. I have two sources plus some id--t flashed up a document in teams while sharing and June 22 was the date. Thursday really seems like an odd date. Original date was 6/16 but got moved due to an increase in surpluses.

I am sure the Stank would have liked people off by EOQ but that’s not going happen. Plus he’s going to have to pay then an extra holiday. He’s probably lossing sleep in that one.

I have heard ( take with a grain of salt) that this round is brought to by HR like the one a few years ago which saw people outside the collaboration zines getting surplused even if they were too performers. However, this time is may be the reverse. Looking to clear low performers from the hub locations to make room for folks to move. No confirmation, but my sources compared notes with others and that seems to be underlying factor.

We will see. Good luck and may the odds be in your favor.

There will but not sure the date. Soon though. Very soon. They don’t want those that are selling their homes and uprooting their lives for RTO to get too far done the process. Even if you elected to move, you’re still on a surplus list most likely.

No, not likely to be as devastating as everyone seems to think...paranoia on a grand scale much more likely the case!

"Will it reach Dist. 9?"

No. District 9 seems to be running at barebones headcount. They're backfilling in AUTS because too many left last year.

Someone said “this feels much worse than anything we've seen before.”

FYI it’s the same cycle every time, you do not hear about it just because it’s another department. Layoffs are happening even when you don’t see them here.
I personally don’t click on some article just because I do not know the acronyms, it’s someone else’s problem.

AT&T is falling apart it seems. RTO and lay offs on this scale, this feels much worse than anything we've seen before. I don't know guys, but those of us leaving now might actually be the lucky ones. Just saying.
