Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Long hours

I wonder why some of our colleagues still work very long hours?
I don't know that anyone was rewarded for working 12 hours a day, but I know many people who destroyed their health and eventually gave up because they naively thought that their efforts would be valued.

I was once asked by a coworker why I worked so hard. He told me that I’d never change this place. I told him that the reason that I work so hard was that I didn’t want this place to change me. When I left I walked out with my head held high.

Maybe because the workload is so ridiculous and many of these positions have managers who are all over everyone when something sits for too long.

You always receive a reward for working long hours…..more work! Be joyful.

No one's last words are "I wish I had spent more time working at the office"
