Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

AppD being folding into TE

Makes sense to have a single FSO team, and TE has done way better than AppD so they get to call the shots.

How has FSO fared in the layoffs? Curious how sales are looking after last month’s launch.

...managing a toy brand like Meraki didn’t translate to real men’s work.

Cisco has no real men which is why it hasn't had a serious universal network management story for almost 40 years.

This is completely untrue. Carry on.

@4but+1nAGnm6x Stop trolling. TN was told to find work elsewhere because CR realized managing a toy brand like Meraki didn’t translate to real men’s work.

TN bailed. The last minute-ness of it is why chuck elevated jonathan. it literally happened over a weekend.

Agreed Meraki's UI is going to be rolled out everywhere as part of the Cisco Networking Cloud.

@1ioj You do realize every Cisco network management besides Meraki has been a dismal failure. How many customers are actually running DNA Center or Nexus Dashboard (and love it)? Maybe TN was shown the door - but since all Cisco grown GUI products have been dog-p-o they are now pivoting back to Meraki Dashboard as the launching point for all EN. Nexus Cloud is now dead, leaving DC switching management in chaos - unless you want to install 3 giant servers to run Nexus Dashboard (which doesn't do much even once installed). I bet the numbers for switch customers actually using DNA Center or Nexus Dashboard are in the 10-20% range. So much for those renewals :)

TN almost single handedly ki-led DC switching, his brillant idea to apply a small business product to huge capacity core DC devices, managed from Meraki. Worst idea ever, its fine for meraki, but those F aart nockers think their product doesnt stink, its ok at best, arrista laughs and keeps filling orders.

Just for clarity, this isn’t true. In other news though, anyone seen where Cisco places in the latest MQ for APM/FSO!?

And they had the cheek to believe that these Cisco veterans could turn it around! It’s hilariously poorly managed by our Eastern overlords now.

Shiniest new object always wins due to the large amount of M&A money spent.
Remember when Dave U from OpenDNS was put in charge of all Security (lasted about 18 months). Todd N from Meraki was put in charge of all EN for a season, until he saw how messed up the Cisco stuff (wireless, SDWAN, licensing) was and bailed.
