Does anyone at Wells Fargo know how to write a clear and concise email that has no ambiguity?
This is what I miss most from my old firm. Everyone knew how to write short, simple, and complete emails that made sense.
Everyone here is either paid by the word, or communicating in AOL Messenger speak. People are making $100K+ to make everyone else’s job more difficult.
When you think of it the culture is very different here to other places.

This post is hilarious. So true. You could probably add the written instructions on all the forms/webpages and how hard they are to comprehend. I don't miss the daily headache I used to get working there dealing with all this stuff.
I feel better reading these. I thought it was only my department. I have to read emails multiple times to figure out what a couple people are saying. If it was only typos and bad grammar I could probably do it but it’s also a word salad of random thoughts and abbreviations.
I think the biggest issue is people have no idea what they are supposed to be doing and so they try to hide that with jargon. Their boss asks for some unclear deliverable because someone 4 levels up asked for something. No one actually knows what they are supposed to be doing so they just hide behind $100 words and technical jargon.
That’s what an English education at a third tier college gets you.
....if you can dazzle them with brilliance--baffle them with bullsh*t....

Hopefully this note reaches you on this pleasant Thursday morning (or evening for my compadres in India). Your concerns on email length and brevity are acknowledged. It is very frustrating to have to read a novella - a mini novel - when a simple one sentence response would have sufficed.
When you receive such communications, what type of response do you have? Have you tried to educate them on the benefits of a clear and concise communication style? Maybe even nudged them towards a develop you course that might benefit them? I’ve had previous experiences where dropping a note to them explaining all this has brought our engagement closer and we’ve become almost best friends at work.

Its the same in how a majority of those I interact with both Speak, Write emails and READ emails. Random strings of consciousness with a requirement to just get out what they have sitting there and refusing to read past the first sparkly word that catches their eye. It's just jibberish.
Instead of sending a simple email, people like to schedule tons of pointless meetings so they can hear themself talk.
That's the point. Obfuscate, obfuscate. That way the problems don't go away & people try to hold onto their jobs for longer. This is the C team not the A team.
