I just don't get it. My peers know the work I do is great and my KO feedback was great too and I still got NI? Ranking done by a supervisor that is not onsite and who WFH is just bullsh!t. This companies leadership is just asinine.

In my group, the admin. scheduled the PA meetings for the manager. She wasn’t given any information about who should be scheduled on specific days. She was told to just get them scheduled. If your manager schedules them, I’d suspect he/she would schedule the NSIs in a Friday.

Our admin. was supercool, but unfortunately left a few years ago. Our manager was the worst and she looked out for us all. She would let us know when he was going to be out and other helpful information. One of the best things she told us was if your manager personally asks you to stay late on a Friday or schedules a meeting with you late in the day on a Friday, you are probably being fired. She was right. She knew the routine. It was sad to see her go.

I got NSI too.

My Supervisor read through my PDS just before informing me that I was NSI. The data given was 50 percent critical of my work. I succeeded in all my tasks, but my Supervisor hated the way I did it because it showed the weaknesses of our department.

My pre-ranking discussion with same Supervisor did not mention ANY of the super critical comments.

Is this normal?

It seems as though my Supervisor added all the one sided super critical bullet points after our PDS discussion and went into the ranking meeting with intention to place me at the very bottom.

Is this typical??? Should I report this event to HR?

I just checked to see the date and time of my PA feedback last year and it’s no longer on my calendar. Check yours, is it still there?

Why would they remove it after the fact? What incentive? So freakin shady.

@2aig+1nAVJuCK Yeah, they dug a hole under her feet and by the time she realized it she was already irrelevant. She had to resign. She had no other career path. I am so glad she is out. I couldn't stand her. So incompetent. ExxonMobil is better without her.

No. Scheduling is random. Don’t think anything of it. The schedule is based on people’s vacations, work needs, SLS needs, etc.

I think the PIPs mostly come towards the end of the month for timing reasons. You’ll be fine.

Probably fine, HR has to send an email explaining the process the day after to you if you are PIP. Don't think I'd expect a boss to do feedback on a Friday with no letter until Monday. Maybe I'm giving your boss too much credit for thinking.

When I was PIPd it was like 2 pm on a Wednesday. I think I was in the middle of the pack of employees. I survived it and am still around bein' rotten.

It's a good sign.

It's the beginning to a transition to a new job with a new employer that actually CARES about what you offer.

Play it cool and calm on Friday. Make your supervisor do his/her job, which is following HR script and giving you the (meaningless) feedback. Ask "forward looking" questions, how can I improve, what can I do differently, etc.

Then, begin you job search with serenity, confidence and humility. Update your resume. Activate your network. Polish your LinkedIn profile.

You'll be out of this $h1th0le before xmas.
