Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Attracting new top talent

I agree that Intel is no longer able to attract new top talent.
I'm just wondering, in the hypothetical case that the company decides to work on attracting them, would that even be possible anymore or would a miracle have to happen so that this is once again becomes an attractive place for the top talent?

Intel is a kiddie seat version of politics. Where there are real stakes above going from grade 8 to grade 9 or getting 2 minutes at Davos as fake decision makers, people go after people they want to work with including cadavers to assure their own relevance. The actual term for this is co-opting.

Everybody thinks they are the right person for the job, but that opinion is not oriented with actual results

Many talented people have left. The company is plagued with politics, dead weight, and biased hiring practices(Certain races hiring only their race and managers hiring friends and family). One organization had a father, mother, daughter, and aunt pretty much all working together. Talent will avoid Intel, I sure as he-l ain't going back. Most of the people I worked with have already flown the coop. As many have said, talented people recognize where the talent is and it's not here.

@1zvi Chandler is not a small town and it exists within the Phoenix metro, home to several other chip makers and other high tech employers. So chandler folks are not trapped at Intel by any means except by their own minds.

Jumble "talent". You get "latent". It is there in Intel at the engineering level. It's the management and the culture of toxicity!

Problem is with the management and culture. There are still some very good engineers at Intel. Intel is still the best pay master and offers the best benefits in smaller towns - Hillsboro, Rio Rancho, Chandler. There are not may alternatives in these towns which makes landing a job with Intel quite desirable. Situation is quite different in Bay area though.

Would you want thousands of nearly useless shares or would you want shares that explode in growth?

Talent recognizes talent so I'm thinking they're hiring the wrong type, but they might be the best at whatever they do.
