Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

who would want to buy T stock now?

Besides pending massive job cuts to decrease operational costs, and a dividend that is now very uncertain, what is there that could attract any stock buyers? Especially since the stock comes with so much risk and baggage, not the least of which are totally negligent executives and inept board. There is no real growth potential, because you don't ever cut your way to revenue growth.

The dividend can't be at risk. It is still the main reason to buy the stock. Especially for the institutional investors. The mutual funds.

We could be in the same spiral of costs that caught GM and Chrysler off guard in 2008. And Hostess in 2012. Their unions didn't believe the company revenue had dropped by so much and they wouldn't bargain to reduce benefits in order to save the company. No offense to the other unions but I think ours is smarter than that.

I'd wait for quarterly results. It'll drop some more.

Yes, better to buy when the stock price is higher.

Well it’s at an all time low. So at a glance it would seem to make sense to buy, right?

Problem is anyone in the know doesn’t really see a path forward from here. It’s all bad news, all the time. Same old song and dance from the inept leadership and no accountability at that level.

I’m seriously expecting “the dog ate our free cash flow” from Stank on the earnings call. Can’t wait.
