Does anyone have a tally of which LOB’s are getting hit with furloughs?

Rumor says significant layoffs this year.
History says significant layoffs this year.
State of the company says significant layoffs this year.
Mid year furloughs are the rubber stamp.

"Better than the alternative? Layoffs are always right behind unpaid furloughs." And executive bonuses in the next quarter. This is the only reason for furloughs in the Honeyhell world.

Honestly, if you have option, why you even work for this company? PMT AM was the best last year, employees did not get upside, only to cover sh-t now. If you working in this company, write a note to yourself everyday, you are a tool for rich executives at all expenses . Like those slaves in India. Always remember who you really are. I know that’s harsh, sorry for your soul

I’m in PMT/SETS and haven’t heard anything. Does that mean I’m spared? Or just haven’t announced it yet?

Someone please explain how everyone in AM is forced to take week with no pay in August- but there’s a technology symposium for all of AM in September?
Save the dog and pony show and give people their week’s pay!
Total hypocrisy.

@wpe
If I were to be furloughed during a planned vacation week, I don't see how they could refuse a vacation week. I'd take it the very next week and see what they say.

Furloughed during planned vacation time?? Take an extra week some other time. You deserve your HON provided vacation… don’t let them count that week as part of your vacation. If HON is going to make stupid decisions then it should feel the pain.

My understanding is ALL SBGs and ALL regions with a few exceptions (eg ISC might be spared since they actually push out products). US is mandatory 1 week without pay (pick week of August 7th or August 21st) to be chosen by your manager. If you have a good manager willing to work with you then you might be able to have a say in which one is picked for you.

Aero is not doing the furlough as they made their numbers.

In the US it is being directed. In other regions they are asking for the employees to accept and sign off on it. They have some worker protections. Not so much here in the US.

Is this limited to the US? No news on the other side of the pond, but given our increased legislative protection, it may only be a matter of time

Furlough announced in PMT - AM. 1 week (so far), they will let us know which week.
Been at HON about 1.5 years now and this is the first time this is happening since I've been here. Very unfortunate.

@kqy+1nFci3oA - who in HBT is being hit?

Guys and gals, it’s Vimal’s first full quarter in the big chair. It’d be such a bad look if HON didn’t hit their numbers in his first quarter. As such, we as insignificant individual contributors and middle management must magnanimously sacrifice a weeks pay at his altar to spare him the embarrassment.

Is it going to be company wide? Or PMT wide? Or specific SBU/SBG?

You can/will be fired if you work on your furlough, apparently.

If I were to work through a furlough, what would happen? I've been through a furlough before and the person who was supposed to cover for me, didn't. I came back to a real sh1tshow with many people disappointed in me. All was good after I explained. I swore that in the future that I would refuse the furlough and see what happens. I really don't care at this point. Pay me my severance and I'll go to a competitor.

Later in the year furloughs for SPS employees on chargeable projects too guaranteed. They may even lay you off straight after!

It looks like only those that do not charge directly to a project are to be affected by the SPS furloughs. Just like last year. So, if you are considering employment with Honeywell, make sure that you are a direct charge to projects. Otherwise Honeywell will use furloughs to reduce your promised compensation at least every couple of years so. It's been like clockwork in my time with Honeywell. Sad.

I report into Corp. I just received the email that I've been selected! Surprised it was only 1 week. I assume that is subject to change.

Now planning a vacation week a couple of weeks after that.

Got be SPS again. I am still friends with a director there, he is being ordered to 'furnish' a line to his employees that SPS is recovering and on a great trajectory whilst being told to prepare for significant cost reduction and 'strategic' changes! Oh, how I really do not miss a single second of being at Honeywell, so comical to watch from the outside!
