How are people still receiving "Remote" exceptions? Either for themselves or their people? When you search someone on the Intranet, you will know they are fully remote when you see this:

Boss corrected my office RTO location. Twi days later HR switched me to remote. I gave up. Still commute 3 days a week.
We're more important than you.
"Sure, they are free to apply to that new location"
So wait -- are they re-posting their jobs in hubs and asking them to reapply, or are they asking them to relocate to hubs with their current job or else? There's a not-so-subtle difference.
If your division has been aligned to hub strategy, all the workers not near the hubs will be listed as remote pending their "layoff". The layoff being their job will be relocated hundreds of miles away to those hub locations. Sure, they are free to apply to that new location but everyone knows people are not going to just uproot their entire lives for this terrible company.
That is why you see many people listed as remote.
In some locations where they have closed offices, people no longer have a location.
"Not all remote workers have that in Workday."
If you are designated as remote, yes. So, yes. Yes they do. There are two addressed in WD for every person. a Physical work address and a mailing address.
For people who are in office / assigned to an office. These two addresses will match. For people who are remote, the physical work address appears just as the other poster mentioned. The Mailing address will be a MAC code only.
We're all over 40 miles from Hyderabad...and there won't be any exceptions for the location strategy.
Not an exception, but WF closed our office and I'm 42m away from the nearest 'hub'. I'll never drive to an office for this company.
It's all up to the discretion of your Senior/Executive leadership team. I'm listed as "remote" in TW, but have a physical office I go to, but the only reason I'm "remote," is that HR cannot 'track' my attendance via badge swipes (Key'd location)
Friend of mine in CSBB (risk) told his boss he was going to leave. Boss asked him what he could do to keep him around, friend said make me remote so I can move back to TN. Done. Friend is now remote in Eastern TN. Glad for him, but the inconsistency and unequal treatment is terrible at this place.
Not all remote workers have that in Workday. Even those not on a medical accommodation. Most of them are random addresses that just happened to be close to where they live. Might be a bank, might be an admin building.
Those w/medical accommodations don't appear as remote. Only those for non-medical reasons do (>40 miles from office, etc.). HR does this so when they start cutting remote staff, they don't sweep up staff w/valid medical accommodations.
You'd think they could have different flags (sub-differentiators under remote), but they don't appear to.
People can request a workplace accommodation for medical and other reasons.
How I got my remote exception:
I live >100 miles from the nearest office location and do some things the bank apparently has a difficult time finding other people to do.
can I get a medical exemption for erectile disfunction?
"Or they are >40 miles from a location."
Right?! Some of us have always been > 40 miles. Some of us are only now > 40 miles due to location strategy f_ckery.
worry about yourself and not others
large % of remote are legacy remote waiting for their severance
just because someone is remote doesn't mean it is due to medical. given how concerned you are with privacy I'm guessing you never use the internet or Facebook or any other modern services.
now if people know you live in a main hub and aren't having to be in the office they may speculate you have a medical issue but end of day most people could care less. get your job done
Why does it bother you? Now get into the office.
Gotta say as someone who has a valid medical exception and values privacy about it - this makes it super obvious for people to know I have an exception.
FRTO
Or they are >40 miles from a location.
Just depends on your position and value to the bank - that's all. Policy is never completely followed here as witnessed by all the MRA's we live with and constant fines.
Sounds easy. Let me try.
