Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Someone here called it ....

Sure enough. Today we hear from Stank after a long silence, and I am sure much legal review, on the lead clad cable issue...as predicted, he is using this issue (solely, apparently) to explain the poor stock performance.

"...has created uncertainty in the finanicial markets to the detriment of our company and our shareholders..."

Never mind that our stock was dropping like a rock BEFORE this story broke, while the rest of the markets have been enjoying a nice rally this year.

Never mind that the rest of the Telcomm sector was UP yesterday, while T continued to plummet.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this lunatic somehow planted this story or otherwise somehow gave it legs so he could try to use it as cover.

Hey Stank, we know you're the smartest guy...but we're not dummies. Well some of us that post HERE are, but overall, we're not.

Almost seems orchestrated to explain the stock price.

Stankey is in over his head just like Stephenson was. He managed to fail his way up.

He had a consultive meeting with Randy in his Jacuzzi before the press release

"a lawsuit against the WSJ"

Would have no chance of prevailing. Defamation requires proving the statement to be untrue. As long as the WSJ can prove they reported exactly what they found, that's not happening. Context or methodology doesn't mean squat.

And then of course suing keeps the story active in the news cycle for years, which is exactly what AT&T doesn't want.

Stink's e-mail was sent past 7PM last night ET. A real response would have been given strongly, and earlier in the day. Also, if the methodology for the article was so flawed, why do they not announce a lawsuit against the WSJ for defamation? Seems to me the players in all of this needed a convenient excuse to tell shareholders why their stocks are tanking.
