Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Issues that competitors do not have

Overall, AT&T has been a terrible experience for me and I can't wait to leave. This place is falling apart fast. However, let's be realistic, I would probably encounter similar issues and have similar complaints with most competitors, wouldn't I?

Perhaps but Xfinity/Comcast stock is $41 today.

No worse, Comcast and other competitors besides the Bells pay less and are nearly if not more toxic. The difference is debt and major bungled business decisions.

Worked as a network engineer with all US carriers (US cellular , T-Mobile, Sprint and now here ). Almost same culture everywhere . It’s not an AT&T thing , it’s a telecommunication thing

I've worked for many companies over the years and T is by far the worst run, has the worst culture as it is far more toxic than any other company, has the worst line managers I have ever seen (they don't know sh-t about managing anyone), and has never once valued its employees. They give employee value lip-service but actions speak louder than words. And their actions have proven time and again they don't give one sh-t about their employees. No chance for career growth, no chance for promotion unless you are minority LGBTQ+, horrible raises, etc.
Most managers here can't manage a 2-hole outhouse in an Ex-Lax factory.

Issues that competitors do not have.
Randell Lynn Stephenson who was "asked" to leave and retains 270K a month pension and somehow has a 1 million dollar "consulting" fee. Then we have John T. Stankey. That is what competitors do not have. Each of which are responsible for the 130 BILLION dollar debt AT&T currently has.
Anymore questions?

You'd like to believe that.

Go to work for a smaller company that is actually trying to make money. You may not make as much but the headaches are much less and they actually value employees. Anytime you have union labor and managers who can't manage you are in a loser situation.

Depends. I thought the same until I finally jumped and found that while no place is perfect, many places are a lot more positive than T
