Will minorities and people of color be safe during this wave??

In August 22, I was stupid and naïve enough to think it couldn’t happen to me. The saddest thing is how much Ford’s stock went up after the most recent layoff. I should have sold then!
Guess I’ll just have to wait til my former colleagues join me on the breadline before selling.

Disgruntled LL4 said it will be a matter of weeks. At least twice as big as last month's layoff. He also confirmed the increased hiring in LLCs. He told me that plan was hatched under Hackett and was Farley's #1 priority. Those in the past against that plan were separated. (Mark Fields and Joe Hinrichs specifically.)

Oh and he said sell your stock before the financials come out later today.

It's true. Layoffs coming. I've even heard it from a good source this week and I usually only get good rumors from this site.

It's tiring and sickening, and no wonder my morale and work enthusiasm this week is in the toilet.

Ford management thinks they can attract the “best and brightest” to work at a company with a reputation for disloyalty to their current employees. I’m sure there are some naive youngsters out there willing to uproot their families and move to a dull city like Detroit, thinking, “It will be different for ME!, I’m so great they’ll treat me like royalty.”

We have been told in OTA that no planned actions are happening to prepare for more layoffs.

This date has been leaked by management specifically to encourage employees to seek other opportunities and leave 1st.

Discussing it on sites such as this is simply another plus for management.

@OP. Not the first time I see that date in this website. How sure are you?

Thanks

Stop whining. Just feel good that your sacrifice is continually enriching the Ford family and that's all that really matters.

Watch what they do - fire top performers, those who come into the office every day, seasoned minorities and pensioners. Knowing this, it doesn't matter how you perform, so why bother. Bide your time until your number is drawn. And look at all the new hires with Director titles, but no experience. This is just another way to bring someone in at a higher title, with responsibilities of a seasoned LL6 / GSR. Makes it very easy to then terminate the seasoned person under the pretense of having duplicate roles. You can bet the "Director" has no pension obligations and likely not making much more on a salary basis.

How can anyone perform well if there are constant layoffs quarterly round, and has nothing to do with performance?

Yep, right after the Auto Show.
