Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

People with “REMOTE” in their location on teamworks

I’ve come to the conclusion that almost every one of them have mouse jigglers and aren’t even working. It always takes an hour or two to reach anyone.

Takes an hour or two to reach me because I dread talking to you.

Teams allows you to send a message instantly. It doesn’t mean you will get a response immediately. HTH

P.S. if you send me a message that just says “Hi”, you will not get a response.

I am a 100% remote user and find the OP's thoughts over the top. I am online at 6a and sign off at 4p, at the earliest. Because I work remotely, I make myself available the entire workday as I do not want to become a childish generalization of the OP's perspective. There are plenty jigglers in the office that stop and talk your ear off in the break room or take long lunches, or just chat the day away with coworkers. Some of them come in at 9:30a and leave by 2:30p. How is that considered a work day? Be careful who you call a jiggler.

Wow, what a juvenile generalization. I'll wager money that most people don't prioritize responding to you because of this very type of generalization, know it all attitude and "since it happens to me, it must be true for all" type of ignorance.

Grow up.

And that's different from people in-office, how? All we know for sure that it costs billions per year to RTO and every single scandal and nearly every 'HR drama' is the direct result of in-office work. It's an archaic and failed concept.

Okay troll. I'll bite.

And your point is? It sometimes takes me 1-2 hours to get a response from non-remote people. I guess they're over by the water cooler chatting.

Sometimes people are just busy. Or maybe they're ignoring you because they prefer to help the people who are easier to deal with.

Blame tech when the CEO of Wells Fargo is on the board of directors at Microsoft.

Teams is the worst! I always closed out of Skype window when not using it and had no idea that actually completely logs you out of teams until recently.. and that’s if you’re lucky in the system even loading in the first place. SO much wasted time.

I blame it on Teams, another great tech choice.

You can relish in the fact that remote folks are getting canned left and right, I guess -- mouse jigglers or not.

oP if people are not responding to you for a few hours, it’s probably because you’re a pITA to deal with. I respond almost immediately to nice people and will wait longer on others.. doesn’t mean they’re not working, means they’re 1) just busy and 2) probably ignoring you for good reason

Don’t lump everyone in to not working as remote just because you don’t like something. There’s people in offices never at their desks either.

I often take longer than instantly to respond to people's message. There's multiple reasons, most of them have nothing to do with the fact I'm remote. The non-exhaustive list includes:

I was actually away from my computer when it said I was away
I work odd hours (by schedule)
You messaged me with "Hi." or "Hi, XXXX"
I'm engaged in a vital work task that is more pressing than the question/request you have
I was engaged in a conversation that took my focus off the computer as anyone jabbering in an office would

@OP's argument is missing one vital piece of the puzzle, though. People don't typically complain about how long it takes me to get back to them because the information I provide is necessary, they know my group is busy, and they know we take time to get things right - particularly when the workload is higher than usual.

Judging my effectiveness from a bit flipped by a sh---y piece of software is pretty stupid.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, this isn't just a REMOTE person problem, it's a company wide problem. Those saying referring to engagement processes not being followed, unless that customer is trying to get you to do work directly then you can eat a bag of D's.

Wells is pure trash for trying to figure out who is responsible for what and locating the correct engagement model. I've opened Jira requests to teams, open for over 6 months, only to find out from some other team "oh they don't use that Jira!", well why is that the one buried in their terrible confluence page? I'm constantly on both sides of that fence, employee's pinging me to action something is a simple courteous No with a copy/pasta response of how to engage my group. And me having only a name(s) trying to track down a group distro or process to follow to engage just to have arrogant dirtbags mansplain an unrelated issue because you're all too busy rubbing one out with your non-mouse hand to execute reading comprehension.

Always fun to wipe the smug away with a directors note.

I was remote and constantly hounded with communications outside of my normal work flow tasks. I usually couldn’t respond to everyone quickly….but my job was complex, and the questions required research.

Why does it always have to come to the tech control people. Yes, we have away a few in Charlotte mostly as a Xmas present. No one is supposed to use it.

But at least we have all been DEI'D while here and forced to acknowledge the parade of weirdos in the bank. What exactly are these (men pretending to be women / women pretending to be men) of society proud of? If you cannot accept your true self, how could you ever expect anyone else to do the same?
