Target US WF Reduction Percentage This Year?

What is the amount of US workforce that will be purged this year? Not NSI target, but the amount of NSI that must be purged?

It is getting hard to get work done with all of the reduction in headcount since 2020.

You also need to factor in inflation. So 10% budget cut becomes more like 15% actual.

EMTEC is being told 10% budget reduction for 2024. That means not backfilling retirees and minimal, if any, hiring. To an organization that is 100% people (no operating units, no assets) that mean head count will go down.

BOHICA EMTEC

That should say one point five percent per year in EMPS manufacturing. I’m not sure why it put a space between the one and everything else.

ExxonMobil has already adopted the performance concept of “Up or Out” which is commonly used in Consulting and Investment Banking industries. I don’t think they now have per say target HC reduction, but for sure they are interested in continuous refresh of workforce since it has already proven to be beneficial by recent bottom line significant improvement.

They can start the reductions with all the people who “retired in place”.

I recently had a meeting with what I’ll call a “senior-level salaried technical professional” who is supposed to be some kind of expert in his field. I say “is” because he currently works there. After about five minutes of listening to him talk, it became clear that he’s done nothing in his field for years. He’s not a unicorn.

I have no idea what makes so many of you think that you’re hot-$hit. You’re not. I don’t know what Exxon pays you people, but you’re clearly not worth it.

Global Projects was around 10% to allow for BTC growth.

I don’t know about other groups.

A lot. Once stocks drop back to the 70-90 range. That is where the real purge will begin

Scary stuff
