I was in a meeting and I was told we should know the list by 8/4. Is it true?

HR is feverishly putting together severance sites and docs. Anyone on the scrum teams there have any insight? Packages to collect remote equipment?
There were a lot of PL that moved away from a facility and are not moving back for RTO. Expendables who can be termed in the morning and have their access turned off will go first. Those where workload and org shifts will go later. We were told 2 rounds but no firm date
If we can just all do the needful and request the same, the world would be a better place.
WE will ALL KNOW soon enough who was fed the corporate line of bullsh-t from their managers and on up.

in our department we’ve been told they’ll be in Q4. so august sounds too early.
Why only 80% of the list? Why not do it all at once? Anyone know about their reasoning, assuming it’s real?
I haven't heard anything, but this is consistent with the type of messaging we heard back in 2019... XX% by Y date.

People - they're not saying 80% of the company will be laid off. They're saying they heard 80% of the layoffs planned will be completed by that date.
BCG/Bain/Mckinsey could have the Excel sheet done by noon tomorrow if you needed, just ask Meta. they use a simple filter by salary, age, gender, (and race to protect against lawsuits) against their baseline metrics with zero idea what the person's performance or tribal knowledge was.
