That poor audience. McElfresh said, "I see nodding heads out there, you know what I'm talking about, we're a team." (Something like that.)
Then the camera pans to the audience, sitting silently, stone-faced and motionless, like it was a funeral but less fun.
I've never had less confidence in AT&T leadership than I have after seeing that ship show. Hiding behind laughable euphemisms like that is the mark of cowardice and duplicity.
I'm surprised the audience didn't give him a standing ovation. The "audiences" at those "town halls" are all hand-picked. I used to work in Bedminster. If any executive with any clout was giving a "townhall" no one could get in without an invitation. That way, the guys / gals on the dais didn't have to fear being asked any embarrasing questions.
Same McElfrish that stayed two years ago (on a tow hall) that we would no longer use force reductions to “make our numbers”, that was “the old way” and the way we’ll do it now is by “growing the business”. What a puppet. It’s insulting that they think we are too d-mb to see what’s going on and that we are so blindly loyal we will accept whatever nonsense that comes out of their mouth.
Those poor herded sheep were indeed a “captive audience”. For any smiling faces, I’d suspect Stockholm syndrome.
The ‘audience’ didn’t look impressed. They looked pi---d.
McElfresh the same person that said “There is no place for you.” in a town hall (recorded) when asked why managers, when surplussed only have 2 weeks to look for a job vs. the previously allowed 60 days.

Even the paid actors won't play along with this game they are playing.
