No Surprises Here: Great job done while working remotely

So, Most people already know this RTO is B-S and just another reason to surplus people (apparently after the Employee meeting the Stank confirmed it is to get rid of the old folks) BUT, just wanted to say that 6 of us (Each working remotely, from sites located around the country, where none of the 9 Hub cities are located) just successfully collaborated together (each of us from 4 separate teams) to collectively worked out a major problem, got a project back on track, renegotiated an existing multi- million dollar contract with a vendor and realized an over $400K savings to AT&T. Amazingly, we will never work together in the same location as we are all from different teams, and are being assigned to different hub cities... but were able to accomplish all of this while working from our homes... our reward is that after saving the company all these Hundreds of thousands of dollars, some of us will be surplused, and most will eventually not move to the new hub locations... just leave things alone and get the work done. not one disruption, or background noise.. we all worked in silence of our home offices and were able to accomplish great things. it is obvious that good work can get accomplished without disrupting people's lives, and all the negative that goes along with that

"All the BS isn't going to help you. Time to get into the office and actually work."

Ah, yep. There ya are. Same db, posting the same tired boring sh**. Get over it and seek therapy for your jealousy.

Yea, I hear ya. Forced into an office to sit at a table with headphones on and fighting every day for the musical chair game of 'make your reservation workspace' with no one I work with. Meanwhile, due to traffic congestion, the Hunger Games of parking and seating go into the office by 6:30am EDT. Meanwhile, my real team is in the central and pacific timezones so I'm cut off from meaningful collaboration with my actual team because of the time difference. DISGUSTING Policy from an egotistical @$$hole of a man who 'knows more about ___ fill in the black__ than anyone else' CEO.

BTW: from his own admission that anyone older and made a career out of AT&T should be gone for more energetic, harder-working, more knowledgeable YOUNGER person -- Stankey should 'rightsize' his @$$ out the door. He's 59 and ONLY worked at this company and apparently doesn't know how to do anything but crash a company, spirit and morale of the employee base, and stick his foot in his mouth

We all know Stankey is full of sh_t!! He lied about relocation dollars and said RTO would increase productivity and allow better collaboration. He really is that d-mb and out of touch. No wonder Angela high tailed it out

"Seriously though, yeah. I get way more done at home than any of these days I’ve been in the office over the past 3 weeks of RTO"

Ditto. We see the loss in productivity after these few weeks. So many distractions during the day.

“I did a great job too, while going to Costco on work time. I call that a big accomplishment.”

Shout out to this person who is absolutely OBSESSED with Costco and makes it known on each and every thread.

“ Do I buy he would blatantly say this publicly to someone? Heck no! Forgive me for being cynical of you about that part of your post.”

You must not be an employee. John said it on the Q2 Earnings Q&A webcast. They most likely won’t replay it if they are smart!

Our team completed something similar and we have got a team award 250$ - divide it by 8. Isn't that nice how T values our work?

... now just imagine the success and level of saving if each of your team members was forced to Dallas, made to reserve seats before showing up to the office, had to fight to find a quiet place to work, and were able to enjoy the company, commotion, heat, and confusion of being back in person.

Leave T as soon as you can. I've seen middle-school Junior Achievement clubs that have a better sense of business understanding and more competent leadership.

None of your accomplishments mean anything if you are not living your designation. Now get back in the cagie, wagie.

“Do I believe JS is trying to get rid of costly senior employees with RTO? Absolutely”
From my vantage point as someone that has RTO’d, it’s mainly the senior employees in the offices and the ones that are cheering RTO. The younger people without pensions are like, this is d-mb.

Good job! Now get back in the office and do some real work. /sarc

Seriously though, yeah. I get way more done at home than any of these days I’ve been in the office over the past 3 weeks of RTO. I have 0 people to collaborate with in the hub I'm located and none of the people I work with will ever be centrally located. This is a total waste of time. Especially if you do work cross-functionally with multiple dependencies on teams scattered across the country. This was a one size fits all solution.

You should be ashamed of yourself for ever trying to save this company a single dime when everyone knows they don’t care about any of us.
