Relocate - 30 years later

Just found out my state does not meet my orgs hub location /key location and after 30 years i need to relocate to keep my job. TW is not an option. Lol! Other orgs can work in my state, just not mine. Ridiculous! This is about to get interesting… anyone else?

Moves are based on job position, not the person. "
Most older persons have deep ties to where they live.
They will not want to move and could perhaps even afford to retire.
So this is a "great" way to get rid of older persons. They cannot win an age discrimination case.

Take your pension & give those buffoons your “walking papers”. Life is too short to endure such idiocy.

it's not age discrimination, some folks are just at "a different station in life"

Yep, even people living in Atlanta being told they have to move to Dallas.

This isn't age discrimination. The goal is to significantly lower headcount across the board. This is a needed step to save T. Why is this a hard concept to understand?

Same here, it’s age discrimination, pure and simple.

They aren’t going to be backfilling the positions for the people that decide not to move. If you haven’t noticed, we’ve been in a hiring freeze for over a year and have been steadily laying off.

You get the trolls on here posting their nastiness. Truth is that Stank did finally motivate me to do something as did the trolls. I do plan to leave. I know the axiom is the “grass is greener”, but it is a desert here now. I went out and looked and there are so many jobs out there with, in many cases, better pay. You can do it! Get a fresh perspective and trot out your experience. You are better than this place.

Jobs in Atl or Dallas: head under table gurgler. A-s kisser. Principle a-s kisser. Stankeys lackey. Robotic audience member with generic questions. Absolutely there will be many job openings. Glurg away.

In most cases where employees have more than 20 years of service, this was long overdue. There aren’t many exceptions.

I know it su-ks dude... But 30 years is a good friggin run. With three DECADES of experience, you'll be fine. It may take a while to land a gig, but I'll bet it beats the cr-p out of working for T. Good luck!

Nearly all upper leadership believes JS is on the way out and are dragging their feet on implementation knowing RTO will get canceled before JS enters the corporate jet with his pink slip

Wake up Dallas! They will fill all the “openings” from those that don’t want to relocate, but it will be with the new team from India. It is all part of the plan. Don’t believe it? Look at job openings in Career Path.

If you decide to relocate, go to a main hub: Dallas or Atlanta. There WILL be opportunities in these locations as others refuse to relocate. I'm in Dallas and can't wait to see all the new positions those refusing to relocate create for me!
