Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Did you see what happened to Yellow?

101 year-old company that ended up deep in debt. And a fight with the union did them in.

My guess? Ford is next. That debt in the 1st half numbers was eye-popping. And now a huge fight with the UAW is underway!

If Ford sees a downturn in sales it could be curtains. Despite all of you saying it isn't possible!

RIP to the Ford.

We are against unions in this forum.

Ford will never unionize engineering. Or anything else corporate. We oppose that idea with every ounce of our energy.

Yellow? That company with the orange logo? No wonder they failed.

Blue oval Ford should change the logo color to red. Yeah, that'll help things.

Very good, this is how market works.

The stupid companies, Ford or British Leyland don't deserve another year. It is overdue

Dig deeper, there's more to the story than the just the union demands. Yellow has been making poor business decisions for at least a couple of decades, much like the Blue Oval, and they finally failed to get any sort of lucky break or bailed out and the can kicking finally came to an end.

"Crack expressed frustration at both the company and the union. (...) He said he doesn’t trust that the union will help."

Well, as I've been saying for many years, Unions are bullies and a dead weight on any company. Yellow went down thanks to the business disrupting efforts of the Union, so all those 22,000 jobless members can thank their Union leaders for having no jobs. I hope that at least some of them learned their lesson.
