Just got back from pto and read the email about simplified RTO. And at the end the lady said there would be something announced. And acted like we schooled be excited about it. ???

All remote business execution directors out of CT should be forced into Hudson Yards. Actually, any manager remote should be displaced. Either walk the walk or stop the farce.
For consumer lending, they announced it is one week in the office and one week remote. The week you are in office, you use the same desk. The week you are remote, someone else uses it. This is being done because they do not have enough space.
RTO won't be sustainable once the job market improves, and inflation is showing signs of cooling.
The problem is that our worthless executives would look at the data in that article and say "good". They want as many domestic workers to quit as possible. They don't care what the negative impact is, on the business or customers or anything else. If recruiting here is difficult, good, all the more justification to hire in I&P. They WANT to burn down the domestic employee parts of the business.

Good. I was WFH before COVID, but another pandemic would return us to a time without the complete stupidity of RTO. I'm all for it. Also strengthens the gene pool via a series of IQ tests.
In 2024, I could see wells bringing in all employees with “remote” exceptions that are located within 40 miles within an office into an office regardless of whether they signed an offer letter as a remote employee (this has happened to some people already but they will also catch some low hanging fruit). Eventually they may make those living more than 40 miles to relocate or take a package. I also think it will go to 4 days in.
Some of this has been started to be implemented already but it will be implemented fully in the next few years.
Don’t worry, another plandemic is coming according to Gates so it won’t be for long.
by replacing all US workers with outsourcing and younger, higher skilled h1b.

There's nothing about RTO I will ever like, other than it ending. And it will end. Just a matter of time and a changing of the guard at the top. Good news is this company changes expects frequently, so this current id--ts won't be around much longer.
Is was technology and the email was sent by a letter person. We all have to listen to someone that thinks confusing their kid for their own mental illness is ok. Now get to the office and shine her nose ring!
All that came out was setting RTO expections the same for all in Tech. Yes, tech is affected. The rules were stupid anyway. So if you're agile team, 1 day a week at least. All others 3 days a week. Managers 3 days a week. The whole RTO thing is stupid if applied across the board. Nobody I work with is in my city. My boss is not in my city. It makes zero difference if I go in or I work remote as I did during COVID. In fact, it's easier in many cases if I work from home if there's an early call.
And don't get me started on the free-for-all seating. What a cluster flock.
I don't mind going in and rather like it to some degree, but to force 3 days is stupid-- kind of par for the course with many things w/in the company frankly.
Simplified RTO is a great phrase. Changes my whole perspective on New Coke, at least the original Coke is something people wanted back.
They're upgrading the snack machines in all break rooms to support contactless payment. Get excited about RTO!
