@1kpw+1nU710bN You are being obtuse on the 32 work week. They don't expect the plant to only operate 4 days. They want 32 hour work weeks so that OT pay starts at anything over 32 hours. That's what this is about. They want 32 hours at the hourly rate, anything about 32 hours at time and a half, double time on Holidays and Sundays. Plants will stoll operate 6 days a week.

@1nfn+1nU710bN The union realized that years ago. Contracts contain verbiage to protect UAW jobs now. They would go into arbitration and nullification/strike if ford removed jobs(or closed plants) without UAW agreement.

I watched their opening remarks, but let’s get real. 32hr work week? What are they thinking? This will hasten closing plants in the US.

Now more than ever… STRIKE! We are rooting for the union members. I’m salary but I wish I would have joined the union UAW 29 years ago.

“ Salary needs a union too”. Ford salaried already have a union…UAW represents some CAD employees. All the bluster about a salaried union is meaningless unless someone takes the lead and organizes other Ford salaried to join the UAW.

It’s almost like the UAW doesn’t realize that when they come up with these demands that Ford is incentivized to reduce UAW jobs to automation. Look at their numbers over the last century
