Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Committing to applying to at least 5 jobs a day

I might be available and "ready to work" but mentally I have checked out. I joined to get mentorship, to work with other smart people and grow but I just spend my time in a silo with no one to really talk to.

They don't have enough people tbh and one person is literally doing a whole project on their own.

If I am not even willing to own the stock, I really need to get out.

“I keep asking for work. Literally being left out emails, meetings, etc. Ended up asking another team I work closely with if I can help them out. They're collaborative and agreed instantly.”

This happened to me. My immediate supervisor kept doing my work but complaining he had too much to do. I told him several times to just tell me what he wanted to get done then stop attending the meetings. He wouldn’t do it. I started doing work for other groups that needed what I do, but it didn’t help. Got axed in June anyway. And they still have 3 job openings that I could have filled.

@1urt+1nUBB2NU your boss is sacrificing you to save himself. When the next round happens they can look at your work load and say, " we can let them go". Meantime they'll look at your boss and say "he's doing too much to let go".

Bad bosses can't delegate. Terrible bosses won't delegate.

Hope all you quiet quitters are cut in the next round so the real workers can do the job. 7/11 is hiring.

You guys should become welder apprentices. It's honest work, unionized, and you can be proud if the work you're doing. And someday you feel the same pride I feel when watching your children follow in your footsteps.

Also, someone mentioned truck drivers. You should consider training for a CDL.

This is America. We pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps and don't take handouts.

I think that is a great goal. Honestly I’d be happy if I sent out 5 a week that was completely tailored to the specific job requirements as it take a lot of time and effort.

I'm not here for games and have been applying externally too. There is no reason I should have to elicit my own work around here. Especially since our boss blabs on and on about how overworked and tired he is from working well into the night.

Good luck, jobs are few and far between. Even all of the bluster about truck driving shortages has quieted down.

We are in a recession and the fed, part of the deep state, is cooking the books so that the GDP doesn't go negative. Don't believe the spin and lies from the corrupt media.

Good call, I’m sure your management structure isn’t fooled by your quiet quitting and is planning to fire you shortly.
