Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

When will KM attain her goal of selling Spring Campus?

KM is abandoning buildings on campus and growing Bangalore Campus.

More and more buildings on Spring Campus will be emptied in next few years.

At some point, it makes no sense to occupy only 3 or 4 buildings on such a huge campus.

When are we forecast to occupy so few buildings that we move out? I am sure there has been a chart on a 1 pager showing that projection.

A site study was supposed to be completed and the information disseminated sometime in August.
Clinton site has less then 500 people coming in. Some days it's between 300-400. Last breath? Glad I left when I did.

Before they sell or fully lease out the space they will ask everyone to come back in. This way they can charge more dollars per footage. You can’t do that with empty buildings

All the money saved by abandoning owned buildings will never add up to the million$ in bonuses given to KM for pushing the concept.

The utilities and A/C must remain on or the buildings will mold and have to be demolished.

I don't know if KM watches office real estate but vacancy rates are at all time highs. If new tenants come in, they're setting up show to be closer to the CEO... As much as DW loves people, I'm sure he's looking forward to that... Hahahaha

KM just needs a buyer to sell the buildings then she can be done with it. She's lining her pockets to profit from the next mega merger...

@1elw why would you want the same work for your children and grandchildren? I think YOU need to “wake up”. The world keeps changing and the next generation will adapt and pave their own way in spaces we haven’t considered. If you’re sticking around, just be glad we’ll all be home based soon enough.

Wake up folks! There are almost 100 job postings on XOM Website Careers for INDIA !!! How much more proof do any of you need? Oh wait! Right is wrong and wrong is right in the United States! So the 100 jobs in INDIA that refer to Houston Engineers, Geo's, Analytical, Computer Science on and on are for? Wake up! Once American jobs are sent out to a low paid under skilled country, how do you purpose getting those positions to return for your children or grandchildren to occupy? Quit being complacent and stupid! This is horrendous!

I heard from a reliable source that the campus will be empty in January with the exception of DW and the rest of the executive board. No more research, no more engineers at Spring, all will have been moved to operating plants, any remaining engineers at the campus will be dismissed in December. All research and engineering will be moved overseas and outsourced.

@ouk because who wants the costly overhead at a time when most are going hybrid or fully remote

The long-term goal is to sell the campus to a developer and only lease back what we need at the Houston campus.

The campus can accommodate 10,000 employees and we are currently less than 6,000 employees. This is why 50% of the buildings are underutilized or no longer needed.

The tougher question is who would want the space after we leave?
