Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Any Layoff, group relocations, reorgs or consolidation news?

The lack of transparency by design, makes it difficult to know what is going on in my organization, let alone the rest of the company. Feel free to post any information with as much specifics as you can for all who visit this site, I’m sure a lot of people would appreciate it.

In the Southeast:

C&E, several engineers and engineering assistants last 2 quarters also some manager reductions in Construction. 11 or 13 IOF techs recently, 38 surveillance techs in Uverse, quite a few office administrators. The last of approximately 12 - tier 1 5ess switch techs. CNIO has also had some manager reductions, Area Mangers span & control has been increased too. I know there are many more but that’s all I can remember at the moment.

I quickly figured several years ago with all the accumulated debt that layoffs were going to occur more frequently and in bigger numbers in Bell history. It’s hard to get departmental numbers or a feel for what depts. are being targeted. I know they said peanut butter spread evenly and no one is safe but this is a terrible way to communicate with the employees or investors. They’ve kept employees stressed and anxious with the disjointed slow drip of information.

Heard Public sector was hit hard, which org is next? Not every org is being hit, aimed at the previous poster @1buq+1nUx2Dpt and why do you have an issue with people sharing? Not everyone is a sycophant with insider information, get outside your bubble Debbie Downer.

Public Sector was just hit with a major surplus, all AM's are gone, reorg is happening on 9/1 and most everything under $500k is either going to a solution provider or a vendor the last one has no experience in this field

People, stop saying or assuming that every organization is affected by layoffs when that couldn't be further from the truth. My org is still hiring and there is no layoff in site or will there be any next year. It's a bullet proof position working on the front lines meeting with customers face-to-face! Layoffs, no, not here!

Why do you need to know? Every org is impacted but if you have to ask then you are likely just phishing to keep this site relevant for information that is available to each Organization. If you are truly internal then you already know as lay offs are ongoing. Anyone outside of the HUBS are at risk despite what some have been told. If you are not in a HUB or someone in the field that cannot be easily replaced then eventually you will be cut. This is a slow roll as they back fill essential positions that are relevant by AI, chatbots, vendors like Infosys or badged employees located in Slovakia, India, Mexico, etc.

DTV has completely gutted themselves. It's bad over here. Whole teams have been eradicated and yet, still tons of incompetent people. Riding it out until the end and at least we're still WFH.

Because of the debt, AT&T quietly changed the toilet paper. A lot more rough. Doesn't feel; good as all on my b-ms. No communications at all.
