Procurement in Argentina is a JOKE! Unbelievably incompetent. But, hey! They’re CHEAP!
Zero negotiating skills. And they treat EM folks like it is a different company.
@nck the inflation in Argentina isn't raising costs on a USD basis. Look at the exchange rates, then think about xom not tying local pay to usd.

Exxon weighs exit from Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale fields - Bloomberg
Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) which once expected to make a big bet on Argentina’s oil and gas, has put its shale assets in the country under review, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
Exxon (XOM) is involved in six areas of Argentina's heralded Vaca Muerta formation in Patagonia, but plans to ramp up development of its flagship site, called Bajo del Choique-La Invernada, currently amounts to just 15K boe/day.
The company's 21% stake in a pipeline that transports shale oil to the Atlantic coast for export also is under review, according to the report.
Argentina's geology rivals U.S. areas like the Permian Basin, but drilling has been slowed in part by protectionist policies that benefit national energy companies.
Exxon (XOM) reportedly is not considering selling its three Argentine offshore exploration blocks or its offices in Buenos Aires where 3K workers service global operations.
You think BA is a "drag"

Closing the BA office would be a benefit to us all…
The inflation in Argentina is ki-ling the economics of the GBC. Most jobs will move to AP in the coming years. Attrition spike coming soon!
Only a matter of time they go too. Chatter around campus is that they are becoming too costly and most positions will be shipped off to a 3rd party provider or offshored to Asia/Pacific region
