Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Tech is EPIC!

Everyone’s so creative! Yet another attempt by tech to reinvent the narrative around the fact they are woefully overbudget and can’t deal with today. It’s all well and good to talk about optimization and client and customer trust (a personal favorite), innovation, and being a destination employer. But this is lipstick on a pig. Efficiency only means one thing at this company and that is moving work offshore. Obviously customer trust is in the toilet and the last 48 hours are indicative of that. AW is likely next up for CEO so digital to the core is more pandering. The only destination is offshore. It says they are the destination for exceptional, global talent.

There’s nothing that’s ever been put out by this organizational leadership team before or after TK, that isn’t about a veiled attempt to dress up what is really happening here.

TK uses her self as an example of bringing the best talent here. Now that is EPIC. She is in over her head and all the boomerang and globe trotting on the company dime will not amount to anything but an EPIC waste of time and dollars. Uninspiring.

When you fail the workers, you fail the company - no return from this in the US. Move everything to India and hope for the best.

In a 2022 consumer survey, Wells Fargo is still “the most hated financial company.” Back in the news on 2 separate negative issues this week.

Everything about this bank is a FAIL, and yet Charlie and Co keep on getting rich off the circus.

All TK is doing is what these people do when they come into a company. We had 6 S Strategy under SVB and now its EPIC under TK. They Invent programs so they can say they spearheaded something and shown positive results.. Looks good on the ol' resume when they leave after it fails.

The saddest part about this EPIC campaign is the “leadership” team spent time on it and announced it with enthusiasm and a straight face.

What’s next? Banners hanging in the Hub lobbies? EPIC - It’s good for the COMPANY!

You couldn’t make this sh-t up if you tried.

@1qgq+1nWrkAtm the best part of it was them saying they wanted to be the destination place for the best talent while basically saying that the best talent was in india

What tech? The basic problem is there is no tech at WF! No product development, no shared services, no coordination. A bunch of CIO silos with a bunch of so-called architects buzzing like bees between them. There is a little bit of this.. and a little bit of that... but it all comes up to nothing. Soon the emperor will be seen without his clothes.

OP, the "destination employer" phrase is my favorite of all of that. As a long time US tech worker, the destination so far has been "zero opportunities (pay/career) in a toxic environment".

I think our customers expect problems from banks and overall are ok with WF more than the employees are.

I loved how they were talking about bringing the best talent here and they pan to the crowd and it was just deadface no smiles - like they have lost some of their best people already and call bullsh-t
