Light Reading on Executive Compensation

Fun fact. All this information is found in the annual 14A Proxy Statement on the SEC filings page on investors.att.com. Kinda obscene, the pay & perks they get while trashing this company into the ground. Stanley got $23m last year. Pension worth another $36m. Don't get me started on his 401k and stock options. McAtee is making good use of the company jet, and gets $1500 a month for his home security. He seems to get a lot of side benefits, but he is the company lawyer, so I shouldn't be surprised.

I hate it when someone makes so much more than me.

It is called Nepotism at its finest. Happens in all large companies. The friends and family plan, competency or merit are afterthoughts.

Perhaps the same thing preventing you from taking a path to common sense.

And remember every one of those are contracted employees, who have contracts approved by the corp board. So they get what they negotiate.
