Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I received the Monday morning 1x1

Couple questions:

Will we receive payment for unused PTO and PBA?

Had Dell historically given everyone laid off severance? All the unknown has me thinking I could get screwed out of getting severance. No pip or anything.

My bonus was based on the number of months I had worked, then estimated bonus attainment was 75%. So if the 100% of bonus = $1200 and I had worked 6 months the bonus payout was 75% of $600.

Good question - I don’t recall what it said. I was thinking 100% but now I’m not sure.

This is so helpful. Is the 75% of projected bonus also prorated again for the year or is based on 100% annual? Thank you!

There are a handful of states that require pto payout (Texas is not one of them.)

According to Dell’s intranet, two months severance plus one week for each year and 75% of projected bonus.

Unused PTO payouts vary by US state law. In California, yes, in Texas, no, for example.

You need to actively add sign up for Cobra. It’s not auRomaric. You check a box on your medical benefit page. Then it activates free for 60 days and then Dell bills you monthly.

I was laid off in US September 2022z. The package was 2 months plus 1 week per year of service. No payments for unused PTO or vacation. COBRA takes effect immediately. You get 60 days paid for by Dell, then you pay after. My COBRA for a single individual (to maintain the same insurance) was $730 per month.

When I was notified in my 1:1, I told my boss I was taking the remaining days I had left as vacation - about 8 business days.
